Welcome to What’s Next Papa!  This website is committed to finding Good News in this crazy world, finding hope in the hopeless, and finding the adventurous life we were each meant to live.

I have a dear friend who lost his young daughter to liver disease.  He told me, “At times like that you either run to God or run from Him.”  My friend chose to run to God.  As a result, his life and the lives of those he serves have been forever changed for good.

Jesus tells us, “In this world you will have trouble. But take heart!  I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33b).  This website asks a powerful question.  What could we do if we all chose to run towards God in our times of trouble?

Our time on this earth can be an adventure in the positive, if we choose.  I love the Message version of Romans 8:15-17…

This resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who He is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance!  We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with Him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!

If you’re hurting or, like me, have come through desperate times of trouble, I want to share another perspective… the upside… the possibilities.  I promise that it won’t be a trivial, Pollyanna-like glad game but one that offers hope in times of despair.  We’ll explore this idea together through the testimonies of those who have tried it, through the promises God has made, and through the adventures that each of us, His children, encounter.

Won’t you join us on a journey of looking at life positively, praising adoringly, and living adventurously expectant?  Together let’s trust in the One who loves us most and ask… What’s next, Papa?
